MacBook Pro Comparison Charts

For those of you watching Apple's switch to Intel, here's an interesting comparison chart for you.

I'm still up in the air about the whole thing. I'm itching to get back to the US and get reacquainted with XP, but if I can buy a new Apple that runs both......why? I don't hate Apple, and actually I've become rather used to it, using for the last 14 months.

Perhaps this is what Apple had in mind when they planned this whole thing. They're not out to make people hate PC (though there are legions of fanboys who do)-- they just figure if you had a totally open choice to do both, would you really still choose as you do now?

I think it's a smart mentality; I'm nearly sold. ;)

One day you're on a touristy jungle island in a t-shirt, and the next day you're in a concrete jungle subway, fully clothed and bundled. Alas, there's nothing really we could do about it. We had to come home sometime.

So we're back. And seeing that bright smile made it through the travel back (and even still is shining today!) makes me feel good. Perhaps my vacation planning was a success after all. I hope so; I sure did try.

Thus ends the vacation coverage. You can always see more in my flickr pics, and Fru is adding pics to her flickr as well.

Sentosa had beach and touristy attractions, but some parts made me feel like I had just stepped into an Indiana Jones movie. Just waiting for a giant snake to fall on us as we're being chased by natives.

Granted if the natives of singapore were chasing us, you'd definitely see their tribal markings of fantastic highlights in their hair as they brandished their moblie phones and Vuitton bags. This is both the male and female native, btw. :)

.flickr-photo { border: solid

DSC05022, originally uploaded by Leftsider.

After a day of downtime it was New Year's Eve! What to do, what to do??? I had an idea to go to Sentosa Island, and the fact that there were ads everywhere about the Sentosa celebrations made my tentative plan a little more concrete.

Then I talked to an online pal who lives in S'pore and they mentioned that Ministry of Sound (if you don't know, I can't explain) had opened a venue in Clark Quay just a few weeks before. Being the music/dancing freak that I am, all logic went out the window and I was determined this was the best place to spend NYE.

It probably would have been. However, a couple thousand other people had the same idea. New years came with us about 1/3 of the way through the queue, and we didn't get in until nearly 2am. Even so it was a blast--easily the best party I've ever been to--and we had a lot of fun until we dragged ourselves into our room around 6am.

After another day of downtime, we headed out to Sentosa. Immediately I recognized the error in my ways: MoS was great for clubbing, but Sentosa would have been FANTASTIC for NYE. The place is laid out very nice with lots of beautiful things to do and see (check the pics in Flickr). I felt kinda selfish and bad after this realization.

Anyway Sentosa was beautiful with Merlion, the city mascot, watching over us all as we wandered about.

For my finishing act, I chose to make our last hotel very contemporary and stylish--for the designer in Fru. We stayed in Le Meridian Changi Village, a four star, for roughly $75 a night.

Very trendy place with a nice layout, rooftop pool, and far away from the hustle of the city. With great aesthetics and peaceful surroundings, I thought this would be the best way to bring Fru's vacation to a rejuvenating end.
